Our Services

Community Awareness

We want to bring awareness to the many deficits of the Utah Department of Corrections and help to create policy and procedures that provide solutions to these pervasive and unacceptable issues.

While prisoners do not have full constitutional rights, they are protected by the 8th and 14th amendments of the US Constitution. These amendments were put in place to ensure that prisoners were treated in a humane and just manner. We are dedicated to educating prisoners, families and communities about 8th and 14th amendment rights and the violations that are currently occurring in Utah jails and prisons.

Whether you know of someone confined within, have been incarcerated yourself, or have ever had any contact with anyone imprisoned in the Utah State Prison system, sharing your knowledge and experiences are critical in making lasting change and protecting constitutional rights.

Prisoner Services

We prioritize people facing 8th and 14th amendment rights violations, segregated or isolated inmates, jailhouse lawyers, those with serious unmet medical needs, and those who may be experiencing retaliation for speaking up.

We can help with:

  • medical records

  • performing basic legal, medical, or similar research

  • assistance with internal appeals

  • writing letters to the Warden, Ombudsman, medical staff, and Inspector General

  • classification issues especially related to solitary or ad-seg status

  • property issues

  • help preparing for parole

  • Literacy services for inmates

  • making copies

  • calling prison officials

  • keeping copies of documentation of prison abuses

  • supplying resources and information

Family and Friends

Inmates are very limited in what they can do to support their families on the outside, while incarcerated, let alone take care of their own responsibilities.

We want to join with other families and friends of inmates to support them in getting access to information about their inmates, fighting for inmates rights and to keep them safe from UDC policies.

Also, coming together to mutually support each other so that no one is alone in this very difficult time.
